Graeme Denton
Managing Director
Graeme is a former Cancer Research scientist with a PhD in Cancer Biology and lives in Nottingham. After being made redundant in 2011, Graeme decided that it was the right time for a career change. As an avid real ale fan, CAMRA member and biologist by training, he turned his focus towards his idea for a range of beers based on the birds of the Farne Islands in Northumberland. And thus From the Notebook Ltd was born.

Colin Bowler
Former Director
Colin is a Financial Advisor and lives in Mickleover, Derby. A keen wildlife and horse racing enthusiast, Colin spends much of his leisure time outdoors with Butterfly observing a keen summer pastime and National Hunt racing on the agenda throughout the winter months. Graeme met Colin through an initial professional acquaintance but have now been friends for the best part of 2 decades.

Steve Poole
Designer
At a similar time to Graeme, Steve was also made redundant, albeit from a very different field. This provided an opportunity to set up Yellow Spade Design Ltd , realising a long standing ambition. Following an introduction by an ex-colleague of Graeme’s (who happens to be Steve’s wife) it was obvious Graeme and Steve shared similar views on many things, not least ethical business practice and fine ales, leading to an alliance that enhances both brands.
